Your Shop Profile — common questions

Why do I need a shop profile before using the other tools?

Because a cut time, a material cost and a price are all meaningless without it. A 40 W diode and a 100 W CO2 cut the same file at wildly different speeds, and a shop billing $45/hour prices it differently to one billing $85. Set it once and the nester, pricing calculator and planner stop guessing.

Can I add more than one machine?

Yes, and you should if you own more than one. Each machine carries its own bed size, wattage and hourly rate. The Sheet Nester checks parts against the right bed, and the Production Planner schedules across all of them in parallel rather than pretending you own one.

Where is my shop profile stored?

In your browser, on your machine. Nothing is uploaded and there is no account. The trade-off is honest: clear your browser data and it is gone, and it does not follow you to another computer.
