Free maker tool
Material is the cost you can still change after the design is finished.
Nothing is uploaded. It runs in your browser, so your files never leave your machine — and it stays free.
Part of the Maker Toolkit: fourteen tools that share one shop profile and one product list, so what you set up here is already known everywhere else.
How it works
Drop in your cut files, set how many of each you need and what sheet you’re running. It packs them onto as few sheets as it can, reports the fill honestly, and gives you a separate file for anything that wouldn’t fit.
Why it is built this way
Questions
By packing parts against each other rather than laying them out by eye on a grid. The nester uses a rectangle-packing pass that tries rotations and fills the gaps left by earlier parts. On a mixed run the difference between a hand layout and a packed one is routinely a whole sheet.
Yes. Give it the run and it fills sheets in turn, telling you how many you need and how much of the last one is left. That last number is the one worth watching, because it is the offcut you either use next time or throw away.
The nester will tell you it does not fit rather than quietly cropping it. Send it to the Panel Splitter, which cuts it into bed-sized pieces with joints that mate, then nest the pieces.
Next in the workflow
These are not a list of everything. They are the tools this one hands off to, and they already know what you did here.
Free, and staying free
Ten of the fourteen tools are free for good. If you want the generators that design the product, and the planner that tells you whether the batch fits your week, that is what the Hub is for.
